Introduction
Born and raised in Los Angeles to Mexican immigrant parents, I was raised to value education and family above all else. Having attended LAUSD schools through high school, I often grappled with the idea of access and opportunity for all students and it was during my undergraduate years at UCLA, that I began to explore educational and mentoring services to communities that often lacked quality resources and mentors. It didn't take long before I knew that serving under-resourced communities through education was my calling. 17 years later, I continue to view service in education as my life’s work, specifically helping to foster avenues that promote equitable access to resources and quality educational and enriching programs for students. In short, I want to be a part of helping shape and guide my students, their families, and my staff to have the best lives they can possibly have.
Now entering my 5th year with Alliance College Ready Public Schools, and my first as a Principal at Alliance Simon Tech High School, I continue to be driven by my belief that all students and staff can, and oftentimes, it’s only a matter of figuring out the how alongside them. I am excited for my current role as Simon Tech's school leader where I get to coach members of my school community to be the best versions of themselves and provide vision and strategy for my school community- all in service of the amazing students and families of Simon Tech in beautiful Watts, CA.
