About Me

Biography:

I am the first born daughter of Mexican Immigrant parents. I have two younger sisters. I have three dogs. I love the color blue and my hobbies include crocheting, painting, and sketching. I grew up in Southern California, the Inland Empire, about 2 - 3 hours away from Los Angeles. I am the first and only person in my family to attend a four-year university. I got my B.S. in Mathematics for Secondary School Teaching at UC Riverside in 2021. I got my M.A. in Education and Teaching Credential at Claremont Graduate University in 2022.

All of my life, my parents told me to do well in school to get a better life. My parents supported me and my teachers helped me apply to college. They helped prepare me for college and a career. I always knew that I wanted to become a teacher, since the age of 5. While I may be young, I have experience in working with students ranging from 1st to 12th grade and have absolutely loved it! Teaching brings me joy!

Philosophy:

Math is a difficult subject, but I believe that every student has the potential to succeed in math, they just need that little push, love, and support.

Integrated Math III

Course Description:

Core Connections Integrated III aims to apply and extend what students have learned in previous courses by focusing on finding connections between multiple representations of functions, transformations of different function families, finding zeros of polynomials and connecting them to graphs and equations of polynomials, modeling periodic phenomena with trigonometry, and understanding the role of randomness and the normal distribution in making statistical conclusions.

On a daily basis, students in Core Connections Integrated III use problem-solving strategies, questioning, investigating, analyzing critically, gathering and constructing evidence, and communicating rigorous arguments justifying their thinking. Under teacher guidance, students learn in collaboration with others while sharing information, expertise, and ideas.

The course is well balanced between procedural fluency (algorithms and basic skills), deep conceptual understanding, strategic competence (problem solving), and adaptive reasoning (extension and transference).
