Course Overview [Ethnic Studies]
This year long course is designed to share the omitted histories and contributions of historically underrepresented, marginalized or systematically oppressed groups in the United States. This will allow scholars to critically analyze dominant narratives and histories in mainstream education but also learn about their own various identities. Students will engage with a variety of sources they’ll need to navigate as engaged learners and develop their literacy and academic skills. By learning the histories of various groups, students will be able to connect them to present day events and movements for social equality.
